TSA Security record for the week of 12/14/09 to 12/21/09
At the TSA site today, I saw a neat little widget in the bottom left of the from page that was interesting. It said:
TSA Week at a Glance: 12/14/09 to 12/21/09
- 21 passengers were arrested after investigations of suspicious behavior or fraudulent travel documents
- 37 firearms found at checkpoints
- 3 artfully concealed prohibited items found at checkpoints
- 37 incidents that involved a checkpoint closure, terminal evacuation or sterile area breach
You know those work place safety signs? The ones that say “X days since a work loss accident”? Well, set that clock back to zero, TSA. Next weeks will likely say:
TSA Week at a Glance: 12/22/09 to 12/28/09
- 35 passengers were arrested after investigations of suspicious behavior or fraudulent travel documents
- 98 firearms found at checkpoints
- 45 artfully concealed prohibited items found at checkpoints
- 10 incidents that involved a checkpoint closure, terminal evacuation or sterile area breach
- 2 over reactions of flight crew while in flight.
- 1 Bomb allowed on an aircraft
- 1 Bomb ignited while the aircraft was in flight.
Guess it takes just one, huh?
Yet the director of Homeland security says everything worked as it was supposed to… That’s just stupid!
